i found the book. it was sideways  in my backpack, i guess it was kind of stupid not seeing it but its there so im ok. the book is separated with the different characters, so every chapter it switches narrators from the six people that are in this book. the book starts with Jake and goes on with Rachel and on and on with the six of them. Jake, Rachel, Cassie, Marco, Tobias, and an alien kid called Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill. although they call him Ax.
