Capital H

chapter 8

I woke up this morning, feeling groggy. I walked over to my couch and fell right into it, turned on the TV. Then I freaked. The scales oh my god, I jumped up and ran over to my jacket. I checked the jacket, they were still there. I moved them over to my gun safe that I don’t have a gun for yet (guess I have a good reason to get one now, huh) so they’re safe and hidden, so I went to work.

I came home and called Jake on the phone, “hey Jake I got a new BB gun I need you to see” you see we need to be careful on an open phone line because a lot of bad guys could be listening in. “ yeah” Jake said back. “I’m not doing anything right now I’ll come over.”

When Jake got there I brought him to the safe in my room, opened it and showed Jake the scales. “you see that there actually green little scales that we just piece together to make a sort of chainmail vest thing. So the scales are actually interwoven into the vest itself… what if I went and stole a vest, bought a gun and we shot it, I think that’s what it’s for.” “You can buy a gun? “ Jake asked. “Yeah of course I can, I’m over 16 aren’t I? That is why I have a gun safe Jake.” I answered. “You know what, let’s go right now, I know a gun store right down the street let’s go.” “ok then you might need it, you never know right.”

Chapter 9
The gun

So we set off down the street, walking most of the way because the bus didn’t go very far. But before we knew it there it was. It wasn’t a very big shop but it had all sorts of guns in it. I was sort of a gun person when I was young, so I knew what most of these guns were just by the way they looked. So I knew the one I wanted, it was the standard military sidearm but the standard is set pretty high for them so I walked directly up to it on the shelf and took a look at it. The first thing I saw was the price tag. 300$, wow… ok then, I can afford that. Then I looked at the gun, an 9mm handgun, fun. So we asked the cashier for it and he said it was available now so I bought it and did the paperwork. Then we were off, I headed home and ate dinner and went to sleep.
